The very first Thanksgiving happened in 1691.
Thanksgiving- The expression of gratitude, especially to God.
All throughout the Bible says "Give thanks." and "With Thanksgiving."
In the King James Version it is about 30 times.
It is important to give thanks to God, daily.
Yes our prayers and supplications are important but thanksgiving unto God is even MORE important.
I learned a few years ago that before you pray, you should thank God for everything that he's done for you and is doing for you.
Now, before I tell God my prayer requests, I make it my duty to tell Him all that I am thankful for.
What are YOU thankful for?
Make a list of all that you are grateful for.
I have a daily gratitude journal that I write 3 things that I am thankful for.
As time has gone on, I find myself writing more than 3.
God has tremendously blessed us all.
For one, He has YOUR NAME in the Lambs Book Of Life.
Not everyone's name is in there.
When you get saved, your name is automatically written into the Lambs Book Of Life.
Some verses that go with Thanksgiving are:
Psalm 100:4 "Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name."
1 Thessalonians 5:18 "In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Jesus Christ."

Beautiful Within
How do you feel about YOUR SELF WORTH?
Self Worth- The sense of one's own value or worth as a person; self-esteem; self-respect.
Do you have any CONFIDENCE?
Confidence - Full trust; belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing.
God's Word says a lot about confidence.
Did you know that God does NOT look at looks?
God LOOKS on the INSIDE of YOUR HEART!
1 Samuel 16:7 "But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
Isn't that a game changer for YOU?
I don't know about you, but it is for me.
God is NOT SUPERFICIAL.
Superficial- Existing or occurring at or on the surface.
God's Word says that YOU are FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made! (Psalm 139:14)
He KNEW YOU BEFORE He FORMED YOU in YOUR Mother's Womb! (Jeremiah 1:5)
He KNOWS the number of hairs on YOUR head.
Luke 12:7 "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows."
At some point in your life, you will probably question why God made you the way that he did.
We are formed from dirt. (Genesis 2:7)
God made YOU in HIS image! (Genesis 1:27)
God tells us what our beauty SHOULD and SHOULDN'T come from
1 Peter 3:3-4 "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
There were many times in my life that I hated how I looked. I felt UGLY, UNWORTHY, UNLOVED. But YOU KNOW where that comes from? Satan is where feelings and emotions like that come from. I became anorexic at one point. I felt fat no matter what. Other people would tell me that I was skinny and beautiful, but I never would believe them. I was trapped in that feeling for years, even after I got saved. It wasn't until this year that I actually feel beautiful and have confidence. I am here to tell you today that YOU are BEAUTIFUL on the INSIDE and OUT. You have PERFECT CONFIDENCE in the LORD! Remember that!
A great thing to do would be to write these verses somewhere YOU'LL SEE them EVERYDAY. RECITE them to YOURSELF until YOU start to believe it.
Here's some verses that perfectly sums up this message.:
Song Of Solomon 4:7 "You are altogether beautiful, my darling, And there is no blemish in you."
Proverbs 31:30 "Charm is deceitful and beauty and fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised."
NEVER forget how beautiful and worthy YOU are!

Fear and Where It Comes From
What exactly is fear?
Fear- An unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. (According to Google)
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love."
(1 John 4:18)
Satan is the one who puts FEAR into YOUR MIND!
"The thief comes only to kill, steal and destroy." (John 10:10)
The battle is NOT in YOUR MIND!
You have AUTHORITY OVER satan!"
"Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you."
(Luke 10:19)
" Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
I don't know about y'all, but I pray this verse whenever I feel FEAR creeping in!
(Philippians 4:6-8)
I can think of a perfect example of someone in the Bible who was afraid, Peter.
The story of Jesus walking on water, shows someone who fears.
"Immediately He made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away. After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone. But the boat was already a long distance from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “You are certainly God’s Son!”
(Matthew 14:22-33)
FORGET those "What if" situations! DON'T DWELL on them!
SILENCE YOUR FEARS and BAD THOUGHTS!
Ask God to renew a right spirit within you.
Be a CONQUEROR!
Did you know that YOU can MAKE FEAR GO AWAY with PRAYER and WORSHIP unto God? It really works!
The Take Away from this:
"I can do ALL things through Christ whom gives me strength."
(Philippians 4:13)

Forgive and DON'T Hold Grudges
I USED to COMPLETELY CUT OFF people who did me WRONG or who would IGNORE me or who were NEGATIVE ALL the time.
I'd do it without a WARNING.
In doing so, I have HURT SO many people.
I realize that now.
Instead of LOVING and FORGIVING others, they'd be IRRELEVANT to me.
Do you see how HYPOCRITICAL that is of me?
I called myself a Christian and yet my ACTIONS would show otherwise.
God wants YOU to LOVE and FORGIVE others.
Verses About Loving Others:
1 John 4:19 "We love, because He first loved us. If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also."
John 13:34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another."
1 John 4:10-11 "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another".
Verses About Forgiving Others:
Matthew 6:14-15 "For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions."
Colossians 3:13 "Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you."
Ephesians 4:31-32 "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you."
It's EASIER SAID than DONE!
We say, "Oh I'll forgive but I WON'T/ REFUSE to FORGET!"
That's STILL holding a GRUDGE! God DOESN'T WANT any of us to do such a thing.
Leviticus 19:18 "You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord."
It took me YEARS to FINALLY REALIZE it!
It's HARD to FORGIVE and step up and APOLOGIZE !
It's HARD to LOVE PEOPLE who did you WRONG!
A LIFE CHANGING moment happened when I apologized to folks I've HURT.
God CAN RESTORE a friendship or relationship that you ruined.
God's Word says that He will work out ALL things for the good of those who follow Him!
APOLOGIZING and FORGIVING CAN be LIFE CHANGING!
If you have a HARDENED heart, ask God to SOFTEN your heart into FORGIVING OTHERS.
Ezekiel 36:26 "Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh."
YOU WON'T REGRET it!
I DON'T REGRET it at all!
Y'all, DON'T STAY AWAY from NEGATIVE people.
God will sooner or later bring you to YOUR Nineveh!
In the book of Jonah, God brought Jonah to HIS Nineveh.
Jesus HUNG AROUND all sorts of NEGATIVE people!
So should we!
I'd do it without a WARNING.
In doing so, I have HURT SO many people.
I realize that now.

Black Lives Matter
Racism- 1. Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.
2. The belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.
I've been seeing far too much racism here lately. It deeply saddens me to know that this is still happening to this day. History is repeating itself.
Genesis 9:19 "These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated."
We are all biological descendants of Noah."
God LOVES EVERYONE!
Romans 5:8 - "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. "
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
God created EVERYONE EQUAL!
Galatians 3:28 - "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. "
Genesis 1:27 - "So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
Christ DIED for the SINS of EVERYONE
John 1:29 "The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
1 Timothy 4:10 "For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers."
1 John 2:2 "And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world."
1 John 4:14 " We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world."
Let's start LOVING each other just as Christ has loved us! Let's not be RACIST or AGAINST a certain denomination. Race and denomination do NOT matter in heaven! There is only ONE race, the human race! EVERY person's life MATTERS!

Idols and Why They're Bad
An idol is ANYTHING that YOU LOVE and SERVE MORE than JESUS CHRIST.
It can be just about anything.
The 1st and 2nd of the 10 Commandments are about idolatry.
Idolatry- The worship of idols.
Exodus 20:3-4 "You shall have no other gods before me.You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth."
Teens have idols.
Why do they?
Truthfully, most are LOST and they DON'T KNOW the Lord.
They want to FILL IN that HOLD with a WORLDLY thing that makes them TEMPORARILY happy.
I used to be the same exact way!
I used to have a BUNCH of idols as a teen.
They were my everything.
At one point in my life, WITCHCRAFT was MY EVERYTHING!
I COULDN'T get enough of BEING IN CONTROL and having my REVENGE on people.
I ALWAYS wanted to do it.
Food was another one of my idols.
For me, it would SOLVE ALL MY PROBLEMS.
God is a jealous God.
Exodus 20:5 "You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me."
He wants YOUR FULL ATTENTION.
He wants to YOU to SPEND TIME with Him.
He wants to be the CENTER of YOUR LIFE.
Colossians 1:17 "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."
He wants to be the FIRST thing YOU think about when you wake up and the last thing you think about before you go to sleep.
Delve DEEP into the Word, it's His letters to YOU.
He LOVES when YOU TALK and PRAY to Him.
He ALREADY KNOWS our needs but he still WANTS YOU to VOICE them to Him.
Matthew 6:8 "So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him."
Make TIME for Him. I promise you won't regret it.
A chapter that perfectly goes with this is 1 Corinthians 10.

The Thief and Tests
"God doesn't love me, if he loved me, he wouldn't of let this happen."
"God I thought you were going to protect me from bad things..."
"WHY DID YOU LET THIS HAPPEN?! I HATE YOU."
Above are ALL things we at one point of our life, have said to God before. Doesn't it seem heartbreaking now that you physically see it? How do you think God must feel when we speak these horrible things? I have an idea of how he must feel.. I am sure His heart breaks.
God DOESN'T MAKE the bad events and tests happen in your life. Satan DOES! The Bible says he comes to kill steal and destroy. God WILL allow some bad things to happen in life. God NEVER promised that you would NEVER have bad things happen to you. Bad things happen because of SIN. I know you're asking yourself the same question I had a few times. "If God is such a LOVING God, then WHY does He allow bad things to happen?"
I have a very simple answer to that question. He ALLOWS for bad things to happen because He wants YOUR Faith to be tested. The Bible says, "When your faith is tested , your endurance will grow."
Endurance- The fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.
God wants YOU to TRUST HIM and HIM ALONE. Look at YOUR TESTS as a BLESSING in DISGUISE. Did you know that even when you're tested, God will work together even the BAD things for YOUR GOOD? God has your back!
Next time, THANK Him for the difficult test that He gave you. See, there IS really a BRIGHT side to everything.
Here's a few Bible verses that go with this :
John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and ]have it abundantly."
James 1:3 "Knowing the testing of your faith produces endurance."
Hebrews 12:11 " All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness."

You Can't Hide Your Sins
Do you know what I like about white out? It can fix your MISTAKES on
paper.
However, it can NOT fix actual MISTAKES that WE make in life.
The
Bible says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fallen short of
the glory of God."
NO SIN is a SECRET! God sees EVERYTHING!
Proverbs
5:21-23 "For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord,
And He watches all his paths.
22 His own iniquities will capture the wicked,
And he will be held with the cords of his sin.
23 He will die for lack of instruction,And in the greatness of his folly he will go astray."
And He watches all his paths.
22 His own iniquities will capture the wicked,
And he will be held with the cords of his sin.
23 He will die for lack of instruction,And in the greatness of his folly he will go astray."
No matter how hard you TRY to HIDE it, YOU CAN'T!
I don't know
about you but I now feel GUILTY when I SIN.
I KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that it is the Holy Spirit that convicts me when I sin.
From now on, CONFESS your
SINS to God .
Ask Him to forgive you.
Then, he will wash you clean of
that iniquity and it will never again be remembered.
It goes into the
sea of forgetfulness.
Micah 7:19 "He will again have compassion on us;
He will tread our iniquities under foot.
Yes, You will cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea."
He will tread our iniquities under foot.
Yes, You will cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea."
When we do that, the enemy likes to strike again.
He LOVES to make you
remember your past regrets and sins.
The Bible says in John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly."
Don't listen to him!
God wants to make you
new!
He doesn't want you to think about the things that he already
forgave you for.
I am sure that he probably thinks exactly this,
"Daughter/ Son, why are you bringing that back up? I already forgave you
for that the moment you asked me to."
It sounds kind of foolish now that you think about it , doesn't it?
Acts 3:19-21"Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, 21 whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time."
Repent
means to turn away from.
Pray: "Lord, reveal any hidden sin that I
have done. I am sorry for sinning against you. I
confess any and all sins that I have done. Forgive me. Renew a right spirit within me. All of this I ask in your name, Amen!"
confess any and all sins that I have done. Forgive me. Renew a right spirit within me. All of this I ask in your name, Amen!"
Here's your take away:
Psalm 32:5 " I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I did not hide;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”;
And You forgave the guilt of my sin."
And my iniquity I did not hide;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”;
And You forgave the guilt of my sin."

Quiet Time Is Essential To A Christian's Daily Walk With God
Do you spend a Quiet Time with God during the day or before the day?
You may be asking yourself, "What is a "Quiet Time"?
Quiet Time- A special time set aside for God and Jesus. During this designated time, you pray, read the Word of God and worship him.
Mark 1:35 "In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.
How can you set the mood for Quiet Time?
1. Be in a secluded , quiet, distraction free place
2. Listen to praise and worship music
I use a helpful tool called a SOAP journal! This helps me better understand God's Word and get DEEPER into His Word . You may be asking yourself , "What does SOAP stand for?"
